In March 2007 Prudential announced that it was considering a possible reattribution of the inherited estate in the with-profits sub-fund of Prudential Assurance Company. As part of this process, I was nominated by the company as the independent Policyholder Advocate to represent the interests of policyholders in any reattribution. Nomination covered the initial fact-finding stage where I gathered information, familiarised myself with the issues and began my preparations for appointment.
Prudential has announced today that it has decided not to proceed with a reattribution of the Inherited Estate. What this means is that I will not be appointed as Policyholder Advocate to represent Prudential with-profits policyholders.
I had been looking forward to representing policyholders and engaging with Prudential on your behalf, if appointed. I am grateful for the support that I have received and would like to thank those policyholders who have contacted me.
